How old does my child need to be to enter kindergarten?
Based on state statute governing school districts, students must turn 5 by September 1st of the enrollment year. Because the skills and abilities of young children often develop at different rates, some children seem to have mastered the academic or the social skills for kindergarten prior to age five. As a result, parents sometimes request early enrollment in transitional kindergarten. A decision to make an early enrollment placement is based on an evaluation conducted by school staff and a recommendation by the school principal based on the results of that evaluation and the judgment of the principal.
What is the dress code for the Susanville Schools?
There are two excellent sources of information concerning student attire. The first is the student handbook for your child's school of attendance. The other is the District Board Policy on Dress and Grooming (Under Students- BP/AR 5132).
