What are schools serving for breakfast and lunch at my child's school?

Monthly menus are posted on the district's website and are accessible through each individual school's site as well.

How old does my child need to be to enter kindergarten?

Based on state statute governing school districts, students must turn 5 by December 2nd of the enrollment year. Because the skills and abilities of young children often develop at different rates, some children seem to have mastered the academic or the social skills for kindergarten prior to age five. As a result, parents sometimes request early enrollment in kindergarten. A decision to make an early enrollment placement is based on an evaluation conducted by school staff and a recommendation by the school principal based on the results of that evaluation and the judgment of the principal.

What is the dress code for the Susanville Schools?

There are two excellent sources of information concerning student attire. The first is the student handbook for your child's school of attendance. The other is the District policy, Click here to access this policy.

Students in grades kindergarten through third grade qualify for transportation if they live over three quarters of a mile from their resident area school. Students in grades four to eight qualify if they live over one mile from their school. These requirements do not apply in cases where a student has special educational needs and transportation is specified in his or her IEP or Section 504 plan. Bus schedules and bus stops may be modified annually so please check with your school office for a current copy.
